Camping

Camping is a type of outdoor recreation that involves spending the night in a simple, temporary shelter, like a tent. Recreational vehicles, permanent tents, tarps or bivys, as well as no shelter at all, can all be used while camping. Typically, participants travel from developed regions to spend time outside in search of enjoyable or instructional activities. Camping differs from day trips, picnics, and other outdoor activities in that it involves staying overnight away from home. In the early 20th century, aristocrats started to enjoy camping as a pastime. It gained popularity over time among many socioeconomic groups. Publicly owned natural resources including state and national parks, wilderness regions, and campgrounds are popular destinations for contemporary campers. Several nations, including Sweden and Scotland, permit public camping on privately owned land as well. Many youth organizations, like Scouting, use camping as a crucial component to educate both self-reliance and teamwork.

Camping gear is different depending on the activity. For instance, the equipment for survival camping comprises of little items that are meant to assist the camper in providing food, heat, and safety. This kind of camping only allows the essential items, all of which must be lightweight. Other types of camping, including winter camping, need the use of specially made tents or apparel that is durable enough to shield the camper's body from the wind and cold.
