One of my favourite musician (Yanni)

Yanni, whose full name is Yanni Chryssomallis, was a prominent role in the development of New Age music in the latter half of the 20th century. New Age music is a typically unrousing subgenre of popular music that is frequently totally instrumental and used for relaxation or meditation.

Greek parents encouraged Yanni Chryssomallis to pursue music as a child, but they under no circumstances put any pressure on him to do so. He was raised in a middle-class family. He never imagined that he would eventually pursue music as a career; at the moment, he just enjoyed making songs. He competed for the Greek national swimming team while he was a teenager, breaching the age limit for the freestyle at 14. He moved to the United States at the age of 18 to enroll in the University of Minnesota, where he earned a psychology degree before graduating in 1976. He didn't start concentrating on music till after graduation.

The instrumental album Optimystique, which he released in 1984, marked the beginning of Yanni's solo music career. He was a founding member of the rock group Chameleon. He wrote music for movies and television even though he couldn't read or write music. He spent some time in Los Angeles as a naturalized citizen, where he made recordings for his label, Private Music.

From the middle of the 1980s, Yanni's popularity grew rapidly; his albums Reflections of Passion (1990), which sold millions of copies, and Dare to Dream (1992), which received a Grammy nomination, were both released during this time. The 1993 CD Live at the Acropolis started to rise in the Billboard magazine charts almost right away, which increased demand for Yanni and his romantic instrumental music infused with arpeggios. Yanni in Concert: Live at the Acropolis, a 90-minute special, was regularly broadcast on Public Broadcasting Service stations in the US in 1994 as part of the network's yearly fundraising campaign. The television extravaganza, which Yanni coproduced, garnered unprecedented participation from viewers and rose to the top of the list of the most watched shows on American public television.
