One of my favourite musician (Yanni)

Image
Yanni, whose full name is Yanni Chryssomallis, was a prominent role in the development of New Age music in the latter half of the 20th century. New Age music is a typically unrousing subgenre of popular music that is frequently totally instrumental and used for relaxation or meditation.       Greek parents encouraged Yanni Chryssomallis to pursue music as a child, but they under no circumstances put any pressure on him to do so. He was raised in a middle-class family. He never imagined that he would eventually pursue music as a career; at the moment, he just enjoyed making songs. He competed for the Greek national swimming team while he was a teenager, breaching the age limit for the freestyle at 14. He moved to the United States at the age of 18 to enroll in the University of Minnesota, where he earned a psychology degree before graduating in 1976. He didn't start concentrating on music till after graduation.      The instrumental album...

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Image
In the northern Matale District in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, close to the town of Dambulla, is the ancient rock stronghold known as Sigiriya or Sinhagiri, also known as the Lion Rock. It is a significant historical and archaeological location that is dominated by a 180 m (590 ft) tall rock column. It's possible that people have lived in the vicinity of Sigiriya from prehistoric times. There is no doubt that Buddhist monks and ascetics lived in the numerous rock shelters and caves around as early as the third century BC. The Aligala rock shelter to the east of Sigiriya Rock is the earliest indication of human settlement there, showing that the area was inhabited almost 5,000 years ago during the Mesolithic Period. Up to the fourteenth century, it was utilized as a Buddhist monastery. Today, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the outstanding instances of ancient city layout still exists today.           ...

Sri Padaya

Sri pada is a sacred mountain in Sri Lanka. One of the few places where followers of the world's four major religions congregate is the mountain of Sri Pada. The mountain rises to a height of 7,360 feet and is located in the Rathnapura district. Even though it is only one of the two tallest mountains, it rises majestically by itself, has a conical shape, and provides an unhindered view of both land and sea. Buddha made three trips to Sri Lanka, according to the famous history book of Sri Lanka, the Mahawamsa. The Solosmasthana of Sri Lanka is where he traveled last, from Kelaniya through Sri Pada and finally to Digavaphi.
